Rules & Guidelines
The Fandom Music Video Awards is a competition where video editors create fan-made music videos featuring their favorite fandoms and media.
Entries must comply with the Basic & Auxiliary guidelines outlined in the A-M-V.org CONGRSS Rules
The Fandom Music Video Awards accepts submissions from all forms of media and fandoms. This includes but isn’t limited to Live Action Movies & Shows, Cartoons & Comics, Anime & Manga, Video Games, and Cosplay.
Entries must be shorter than 6 minutes and longer than 45 seconds.
Entrants are allowed to submit (1) video per category and to a maximum of (3) categories. A specific video can not be submitted to more than one category.
All submissions must be sent by Wednesday, July 31st, 2024 at 11:59 pm (EST).
Categories
Entrants can select the best-fit category for their submission, but if our judges strongly disagree, it may be moved to a better-fitting category.
Adrenaline - Showcase excitement and adrenaline-filled action.
Tribute - Capture the essence of a character, franchise, or something meaningful to a fandom.
Shipping - Portray romantic relationships between characters (Both canon and non-canon ships are allowed)
Suspense - Invoke a sense of dread and anticipation from the audience.
Upbeat - Entertain us with fun energy and good vibes
Drama- Convey a heavily dramatic event, emotion, or situation.
Humor - Amuse us with your sense of humor.
File Formats
MP4 is the preferred file type for entries and should be in a resolution of either 720 or 1080P. We strongly discourage submitting any other media type.
Judging
We'll select the top videos from each category, and screen them during the convention. Finalists will be announced and notified via email about a week after the submission deadline passes. During the Contest screening (September 3rd, 2024) Dragon Con attendees will vote for the winners of each category.
Finalists
Finalists will receive a free 1-Day (Sunday) membership to Dragon Con 2024. Offer is exclusive to Sunday, is non-transferable, non-refundable, and can not be exchanged, or combined with other memberships.
The form requires you to provide a download link of your video via a file-sharing service like Google Drive or Dropbox. Please ensure that the URL is a “shared” or “public” link. If your video meets the necessary rules and requirements, a confirmation email will be sent to you within 3 days. At any time, we reserve the right to not show or ultimately disqualify any video for any reason.
Submissions Close July 31st
